THE RAINDANCE FIELD GUIDE
Raindance AI trend: choose the right video workflow
Separate the song, a meme and a generated performance, then choose a workflow that fits the clip you want.
The Raindance AI trend puts new performers into music-video-style scenes associated with Dave and Tems' song. If someone sent you a clip and you want to make your own, first check what you are trying to recreate: the setting, a particular performance, or just the song. Those choices need different tools.
Media.io's trend tutorial describes a reference-video workflow with two character images. Raindance AI Generator at raindanceai.me uses a prepared golden-hour pier scene instead. Here you choose Solo or Duet and supply portraits; you do not upload a reference video or write a custom scene prompt.
A Raindance meme, the song and an AI template
A meme may use the Raindance recording underneath a joke, a reaction or a generated scene. Hearing the song does not tell you how the picture was made. An edited live-action clip and an AI-made performance can use the same sound.
The original recording is Dave featuring Tems. Their record label's official video announcement identifies the artists and says the video was filmed in Lagos, Nigeria. The AI templates you encounter online are separate products. This generator is independent of the artists and their labels.
Keep the example you like handy while choosing a workflow. Look at the number of performers, camera cuts and setting. Listen for whether the sound is the released track. A two-person dock scene is a different request from copying every shot of an existing music video.
Choose a workflow before paying
| What you want to make | What to check |
|---|---|
| A short pier performance with your own face | A prepared photo-to-video preset may fit. Watch its actual examples first. |
| A duet with a friend photographed elsewhere | Check whether the tool accepts two separate portraits and assigns each a position. |
| The same movements and cuts as a particular clip | Look for reference-video or motion-transfer input. This generator has neither control. |
| A performer singing specific words | Check for an audio-driven lip-sync input. This generator does not accept custom audio or guarantee exact lyrics. |
| A reaction meme with text and the original song | You may only need an editor and permitted platform audio; personalized AI generation is optional. |
Here, Solo makes one 10-second performer; Duet makes an 8-second scene from two separate portraits. Both export a vertical 768p MP4. The scene and output settings are fixed. Results can vary in likeness, movement and sound, so the examples help you decide whether that format suits your idea.
Plan a duet that reads clearly
For a birthday message or a playful group-chat clip, choose two consenting adults and one clear portrait of each. They do not need to have been photographed together. Photo 1 guides the left performer and photo 2 the right. If the order matters to your joke or greeting, check the local previews before generating.
Use a separate editor for a short caption such as “Our group chat finally dropped a music video.” That is an example caption idea, not a report from a customer. Keep text away from faces and the bottom edge where social-app controls can cover it. This website generates the performance; it does not provide a caption editor.
See the Solo and Duet guide for the role mapping, or the photo guide if an input is blurry or obscured.
Preview, generate, then check the finished file
You can watch examples and select photos locally for free. A personalized generation requires Google sign-in and a one-time pack: one video costs $9.90, two cost $18.90 and five cost $44.90. There is no subscription. A pack's video count is the number of generations, not the number of people in a Duet.
Follow the creation guide when ready. After generation, open My clips and download the MP4. Watch the whole file once before adding anything: check both faces, motion, crop and the sound. Adding a caption or moving an audio segment cannot repair an incorrect generated expression.
Add music and explain what you made
If your idea depends on the Dave and Tems recording, use an available track you are permitted to use in your posting app. A video purchase does not include a licence to redistribute that song. Follow the music and audio guide to avoid two soundtracks playing together.
For a realistic generated performance, use the destination platform's applicable AI disclosure. TikTok's AI-content help explains its label. Tell your audience that the visual is generated, especially if a joke could be mistaken for something a real person did.
